As a Met fan, it is appalling to learn the use of steroids or human growth hormones in the Major League Baseball among players; Mitchell’s report has named 15 NY Yankees and 12 NY Mets involved in this scandal. It deems that work ethics are no longer the priority of these players rather to hit as many home runs as they can with the help of drug enhancement so they can negotiate more money and get paid millions of dollars. By deceiving the fans, they jeopardize the integrity of the game. To top that they don’t seem to care the negative effect of the drug that can lead to liver cancer or depression. Not to mention they are giving a bad example to the young future athletes.
Tennis anyone? Former number one tennis player had decided to retire rather to face and clear her name when Women’s Tennis Association accused her of allegedly using cocaine during the game.
An Olympic sprinter had given up her gold medals to the IOC after she admitted of using steroids. So this maybe a part of every sport event.

Holiday on Flight
Without a doubt holiday season brings great joy, likewise it has the ability to cause stress and frustration; frantic shopping trips, hectic work deadlines, holiday traffic, and winter weather to name a few. Though it brings you happiness, at the same time can be a source of profound anxiety. For holiday travelers, even more pressure is added.I have two weekend left to do all my Christmas shopping for my three nieces and two younger brothers; which my two older sisters and I had agreed upon not to exchange gifts that we should just focus on our nieces, brothers, and of course our mum. And a week from Monday I’ll be flying out and spending my holiday on flight to the Philippines.

A New Beginning
The JPLSHS alumni North East-USA chapter had come together for their first Christmas get-together on December 8, 2007 at Casa Victoria in Jersey City, New Jersey. Fortunately, we have Nessie to put this event together – calling and sending e-mails to everyone who lives in NY-NJ-PA-CT to join in. We expect that this group will expand as time goes by.
